Caffeine Alternatives

Coffee Alternative.jpeg

Caffeine isn’t necessarily a bad thing…

But for some who are genetically sensitive, they shouldn’t have more than 200mg a day (which is about 16 oz of coffee).

This can put us in search for caffeine-free beverages that either mimic the taste and feel of coffee (you know that warm and fuzzy feeling you get when you drink a cup of warm coffee) or still needing an energy boost without the caffeine.

I’ve researched some of the best caffeine-free beverages that either provide that warm and fuzzy feeling or give you that energy boost you need at the dreaded 3pm daily slump.

So Here’s 5 Caffeine-Free Options!

Option 1: MUD/WTR

MUD/WTR isn’t caffeine-free, but it has 1/7th of the caffeine that coffee has, which will give you a bit of an energy boost without the crash or overconsumption of caffeine.

It’s loaded with healthy mushrooms, turmeric, sea salt, and cacao, and with these beneficial ingredients, you really can’t go wrong! When mixed with 1 TBSP of hot water you can finish it off with creamer, milk, or your fav coffee topper and enjoy!

Check out more benefits on their website: https://mudwtr.com/

Option 2: Dandyblend

Dandyblend has been labeled as one of the best alternatives for coffee lovers and I’d have to agree. The taste is very similar to coffee and the health benefits are worth the switch from regular coffee!

Dandy, which is short for Dandelion or Dandelion root, has so many healing properties and is beneficial for Digestion, Kidney’s, Liver, & has even been known to help with diabetes. (1)

Option 3: Crio Bru

This cacao beverage is known as the “Superfood Packed with Nutrients.” It’s brewed just like coffee but has the taste and benefits of cacao! (pronounced Ka-Cow) :)

“Cacao is packed with nutrients like antioxidants to boost your immune system and magnesium to support bone, brain, and heart health. While low in carbs and calories, Cacao also acts as a natural appetite suppressant. Best of all, cacao is loaded with natural mood enhancers that can help you feel great, increase focus, reduce stress, and sleep better.”(2)

It isn’t sweet but add a touch of stevia or monk fruit and enjoy heaven in your mouth.

Option 4: Turmeric Latte/Golden Milk

Turmeric is known to have anti-inflammatory properties. It’s important to mix it with black pepper so it absorbs in the body.

“Turmeric is an excellent source of phosphorus which studies show is a critical part for healthy bones, teeth, and DNA. Getting enough phosphorus in your diet can reduce the risk of anemia, infection, or bone problems.” (4)

Option 5: Herbal Tea

If you’re looking for an exact coffee alternative this isn’t it… BUT this is an excellent option for a hot or cold beverage that provides nutrients and antioxidants.

Studies have found that drinking 3 cups of Hibiscus tea helps lower blood pressure in individuals who modestly suffer from elevated levels.

Echinacea tea is often used to help fight off the common cold and chamomile tea may help prevent complications from diabetes like the loss of vision and nerve and kidney damage. (3)
